The United States Tennis Association (USTA) has recognized two Renner Sports installations as part of their 2019 Facility Awards Program. Wall Park Tennis Complex in McPherson, Kansas was awarded in the Public Courts: Small Tennis Centers category and the Apex Tennis Center in Arvada, Colorado in the Public Courts: Large Tennis Centers category. The program recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities across the country.
The facilities were judged on the participation in the USTA programs, the quality of the court surface and lights, player accommodations, simplicity of maintenance, aesthetics, amenities (food services, spectator seating, social areas), as well as the layout and adaptation to the site.
Wall Park showcases (6) Renner post-tensioned concrete courts along with (4) Renner post-tensioned concrete Quickstart tennis courts. Open to the public, the facility is a hub for the local tennis community and is utilized for numerous events and tournaments.
The Apex Tennis Center, a renowned facility in Colorado, is made up of (12) Renner post-tensioned concrete courts of which (4) are indoor and (8) outdoors. The courts at both Wall Park and the Apex tennis Center are surfaced with the Renner Classic system. ITF (International Tennis Federation) tested and classified pace II and III, the Classic system offers elite performance, durability and value. It is designed to withstand harsh weather with superior playing characteristics and ball bounce.
For over 20 years, Renner has been a leader in high-performance tennis court surfacing and construction. Their courts are found at some of the most prestigious venues across North America, and they’re committed to elevating performance and keeping athletes safe through innovative surfaces designed for competition and daily training. In 2014, the company was acquired by Beynon Sports and officially joined the Tarkett Sports family.
The winning sites received a merited wall plaque and all-weather sign to be displayed at their facility.
