New Post-Tensioned Concrete Track and Beynon Surface to be Constructed at Spearville HS in 2016

The construction of a new track surface at Spearville High School has officially been approved. Beynon Sports and Renner Sports have partnered to build Spearville’s new athletic facility which will feature a new eight-lane Beynon track with Renner’s post-tensioned concrete subbase. Work is scheduled to commence May 2016.

The project will convert Spearville’s current six-lane track into an eight-lane showcasing Beynon’s IAAF-certified BSS 1000 track and field system built on Renner Sports’ proprietary post-tensioned concrete (PTC) track subbase. The PTC subbase will provide increased longevity and reduced lifecycle costs for the taxpayers of Spearville, Kansas over the traditional asphalt construction. Beynon’s BSS 1000 surface allows athletes to perform at their highest level while training or in competition. The track surface is durable enough to resist the roughest weather and the toughest competition and requires no advanced maintenance.

Its bio-engineered force reduction layer integrates very fine SBR rubber granules with environmentally friendly polyurethane to create an impermeable shock-absorbing cushion.

The BSS 1000 system is quickly becoming the most popular track surface in America and is the trusted surface of University of Kansas Anschutz Pavilion, Kansas State University, SPIRE Institute, Missouri State University and over 2,000 Collegiate, High School, and Community sports facilities.
